THRESHOLD GUIDE

Standing at the Threshold is what I have done all my adult life.  For more than 25 years I stood as guide, protector and supporter of both mother and babe as they crossed into life and motherhood. I now work with individuals who are seeking to give birth to themselves as powerful participators in life.  I believe that those of us living on this earth have chosen to be here to take part in the Great Turning from living in an industrial growth culture to living in a life-sustaining culture.  To participate in such an endeavor, we need to do our personal healing/trauma work and actively connect with and take our place with the Other-than-Human world.

Over the years, I have gathered an eclectic set of tools to help people do just that.

Women in the Wild

May 1 – May 3, 2026

At the heart of Women in the Wild is what I call a sacred conversation in nature — a living, two-way dialogue with the web of beings around us. Trees, streams, stones, wind, and soil become companions and mirrors, offering insight through metaphor, sensation, and wild imagination. This is not about hiking far or doing anything “right.” It is about curiosity, listening, and allowing nature to meet you exactly where you are. This retreat is for women who are longing for clarity, reconnection, and space to listen inwardly.

Shamanic Foundations: Journeys of Empowerment, Protection, and Support

Thursdays, May 28 – July 16 at 4pm PT

There is a difference between touching into a practice and being held by it over time.

A single journey can bring insight. A teaching can open a doorway. A circle can remind us that we are not walking alone.

But when a group enters a shared practice week after week, something else becomes possible. The work begins to gather strength. The journeys start to build upon one another. The places we visit become more familiar, more alive, and more available in daily life.

Carol Asiaghi and Ellen Grossman will be guiding the course with respect for the lineage of Hank Wesselman and Jill Kuykendall, and with care for the unique experience each person brings to the circle.

Each live gathering will include teaching, guided journeywork, reflection, and space for shared discovery. The purpose is not only to learn more about shamanic practice, but to become more deeply rooted in it.

For newer journeyers, this offers a grounded and supportive way to begin. For those already practicing, it offers a chance to refine the pathways, renew the foundations, and listen for what the work is ready to reveal now.

What folks are saying about Ellen

Ellen is a skilled gentle, loving, intuitive guide and teacher with an uncanny ability to provide unique perspective into each individual’s journey.

Yvonne

You were the anchor and the holder of the stories.  It was a combination of the group and myself being willing to be very open and intimate.  You received the stories with an honoring of the gift of holding.  You held them, and heard them and remembered them.

Cate

One of the best things you can do right now is to take a journey with Ellen Grossman. Developing a strong, unabashed, connection to our true Self, is imperative today and Ellen masterfully creates the space to make it happen.
